Bethel AME annual scholarship banquet

I had the auspicious occasion to serve as guest speaker tonight at Bethel AME (Augusta) for their annual scholarship banquet. We had a wonderful fellowship and most excellent meal prepared by the Larry W. Hudson Sr. Men Usher Board.

“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.”

My speech was entitled, “Does Bethel Have A Few Good Men—A Few Good Ushers?” I referenced the story of Gideon and the need to be servant leaders with the desire to be obedient and faithful. Special thanks to Rev. Dr. Augusta Hall Jr., my friend Patrick Finney, and the Usher Board for the opportunity.
